Production and refinement

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. Each variety is managed separately, respecting their different ripening times and ensuring that every cluster reaches its full aromatic expression. The vineyards are planted on well-drained, gravelly soils, in a microclimate typical of the Bolgheri hills, with a sea breeze that helps keep the grapes healthy and fresh. Harvesting is strictly manual, selecting only the best clusters to ensure quality and concentration in the wine.

In the winery, vinification is guided by a balance between tradition and craftsmanship. After harvest, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and ferment in cement tanks with indigenous yeasts, respecting the natural timing of each variety. This approach preserves the authentic character of the terroir and develops aromatic complexity.

After fermentation, the wine undergoes 12 months of aging in steel tanks, designed to enhance fruit and structure without masking its natural nuances. This is followed by an additional 3-month rest in the bottle before release, completing the aromatic evolution and giving the wine balance, smoothness, and persistence.

Podere dei Musi

The history of Podere dei Musi is a tapestry of tradition, family passion, and respect for the Bolgheri territory. The family, already in the years when the Musi brothers planted some of the area’s first specialized vineyards, established a commitment to quality viticulture, building a winery and producing wine in harmony with nature. The current estate, formally active since 2006, has found new energy with the arrival of the younger generation, Federico Di Vaira, who combines the wisdom of traditional winemakers with the latest oenological knowledge.

Podere dei Musi

Podere dei Musi is a family-run, artisanal estate: work in the vineyard and winery is designed to respect the natural characteristics of the grapes and the terroir, without ideological rigidity, highlighting the unique microclimate of Bolgheri and the gravelly soils of the hills. Every choice—from manual harvesting to spontaneous fermentation in cement tanks and aging decisions—stems from the belief that wine is the result of a harmonious collaboration between humans and nature.

Today, the estate serves as a bridge between past and present: the memory of the Musi brothers lives on in every vine row, while the passion of the new generation allows each harvest to be transformed into elegant and authentic wines, capable of conveying the complexity and identity of the most genuine Tuscany.

Tuscany

Tuscany is one of the most important Italian regions for wine, famous worldwide for its renowned labels. Here, wine truly has been part of history and culture for centuries, as far back as the 14th century with the establishment of the "Lega dei Vinattieri" (Wine Merchants Guild).
The Tuscan landscape also tells the story of the territory's strong winemaking vocation: from the hills of Chianti and the Etruscan Coast to the panoramas of Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana, kilometers of splendid vineyards stretch out before our eyes, producing excellent wines.

Tuscany is one of Italy's most suitable regions for the production of quality wines and has conquered world markets since the 1980s. Bathed by the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea, it has predominantly hilly terrain with a temperate climate, mild winters, and cool summers.
The various types of grapevines cultivated in Tuscany are greatly influenced by the soil on which they grow, ranging from sandy soils in the west to tuffaceous soils, and even clayey and calcareous soils.
A special mention goes to "galestro," a type of local soil that also gives its name to a wine from the Chianti area.

Bolgheri

Aged Pecorino Cheese

The typical aged, hard cheese made from whole sheep's milk offers opportunities for intense, fragrant, and characterful pairings - worth trying to enhance successful appetizers.

Grilled Meat

Skewers, pork, steaks, up to the noble Florentine steak... grilling enhances the flavor of the meat (properly marinated) and makes it pleasantly charred. Best enjoyed in company for truly convivial barbecues, always being careful not to place the meat directly over the flame.
