Production and refinement

Cascina Morassino Airone 55 Rosato is made from carefully selected Nebbiolo grapes from the finest vineyards of the Langhe, in the municipality of Barbaresco, Ovello subzone, and the municipality of Neive, Cottà subzone. Here, the vines, trained in Guyot on a trellised system over calcareous marl soils, benefit from excellent exposure and mineral-rich terrain, giving the wine elegance, structure, and typicity. Harvesting is done manually at full ripeness, with meticulous attention to the quality of each cluster, ensuring that only the best grapes enter the cellar.

The grapes are gently pressed, and the must remains in contact with the skins for about twelve hours, enough to give the wine its rosé color and characteristic aromatic freshness. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, a choice that preserves the Nebbiolo’s fruity and floral aromas. After fermentation, the wine undergoes a brief aging in steel and then rests in the bottle for several months, during which the flavors harmonize and the minerality blends with the freshness.

Torre dei Beati

Torre dei Beati is a beautiful Abruzzese winery focusing on high-quality, region-specific wines. A family-run business founded in 1999, the winery has always adhered to a philosophy of natural winemaking, producing organically and respecting the environment. This is one of the oldest and most significant communes in the Pescara province, located in a gently sloping landscape with a prime position for viticulture, where the terroir is exceptionally suited.

They cultivate 21 hectares, situated 25 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea, on the first rolling hills of clay-limestone soil, rising towards the 3,000-meter peaks of Gran Sasso d’Italia, the highest summit of the Apennines. The vineyard's location ensures daily influence from the temperate sea air during the day and cool mountain breezes at night, particularly during the final month of maturation when the region often experiences early snowfall.

Torre dei Beati

Torre dei Beati was founded in 1999 by Adriana Galasso and Fausto Albanesi. The Montepulciano vines were planted about forty years ago by Adriana’s father.

Today, after more than a decade of harvests, Torre dei Beati is a small but highly regarded winery, dedicated to preserving the purest Abruzzese traditions. Their wines are elegant and fresh, true expressions of the Abruzzo terroir, thanks to a meticulous and sustainable management approach that respects the land. Montepulciano and Pecorino, blending ancient and modern, are the result of bold choices, driven by a deep love and passion for winemaking.

Piedmont

In Piedmont, the first traces of viticulture date back to pre-Roman times (precisely to the Bronze Age, around 1500 B.C.), and although today the peak of quality is found in the region's great red wines, Piedmont also produces excellent white wines and sparkling wines.

The role of Piedmont has been fundamental for the development of modern Italian winemaking. It is here that the first examples of zoning of wine-growing areas were recorded, introducing concepts such as terroir and cru to Italian wines. Thanks to zoning, if a wine is produced exclusively from grapes coming from a single vineyard or parcel, the geographical indication appears on the label, increasing its prestige.

In addition to the geographical delineations indicated on the map, Piedmont is divided into 8 zones that group the 16 DOCG and 42 regional DOCs. Among these, we remember in the north the famous Gattinara DOCG and Ghemme DOCG, near Turin the Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG, in Monferrato the Barbera del Monferrato Superiore DOCG, Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG, Dogliani DOCG, Ovada DOCG, Gavi DOCG, and Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, ending with Roero DOCG to the left of the Tanaro river and, in the Langhe region, with the famous Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Dogliani DOCG.

In Piedmont, the revolution in the world of wine began, bringing Italy back to the forefront of high-quality production. Here, with few exceptions, single-varietal wines are produced, which best express the characteristics of the terroir and magnificently exalt the Piedmontese territory.

Pescara

The province of Pescara, located along the Adriatic coast, is one of the four provinces that make up the Abruzzo region. Its territory alternates between flat coastal areas and hills covered with vineyards and olive groves, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate. Thanks to its proximity to the sea, this climate creates ideal conditions for viticulture. Pescara, the provincial capital, lies on the Adriatic Sea at the mouth of the Aterno River and represents the heart of this fertile land. The varied landscape of plains and hills allows for the production of wines that reflect the uniqueness of the Abruzzo terroir.

Regarding wine production, the province of Pescara boasts three of the seven DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) appellations recognized in Abruzzo. First and foremost is the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC, which finds some of its most authentic expressions here. Made primarily from the Montepulciano grape variety, Cerasuolo stands out for its freshness and pleasant drinkability, available in both base and reserve versions.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC is another emblem of the Pescara province. This grape variety, capable of expressing unique territorial richness, is divided into five subzones: Alto Tirino, Casauria, Teate, Terre dei Peligni, and Terre dei Vestini. Each of these areas contributes to defining wines with distinctive character, showcasing diverse nuances depending on the terroir.

Completing the list of Pescara's denominations is Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC, another significant reference for the province. Made primarily from the Trebbiano Abruzzese, Trebbiano Toscano, and Bombino Bianco grape varieties, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is characterized by its freshness and acidity, available in both superior and reserve versions.

Finally, the Colline Pescaresi IGT further enriches the province's wine landscape. This designation allows for a wide variety of wines, from whites to reds, using grape varieties best suited to the territory. Pescara thus not only preserves its tradition but also embraces new experiments, enhancing the biodiversity of its terroir.

The climate, typically Mediterranean, benefits from its proximity to the sea, creating optimal conditions for vine cultivation.
